General Terms

Anchor 1
First Generation Student- A student who is first in their immediate family to graduate college. This includes students whose siblings have attended college.
Campus- Land which a college or university and other related institutional buildings are situated.

Career Services- An office you can visit to explore what degree you might be interested in, possible internships or jobs to look for. They can also help polish your resume, curriculum, etc.
Commuter- A ceremony in which degrees or diplomas are given to graduating students
Cohort- A group of people; usually a group of people who you will be put into groups with during orientation.
Dean's List- An academic award used to recognize the highest scholarship demontrated by students.

Dormitories (Dorms)- A large bedroom for a number of people in a school.

Grants- A sum of money given by a government or another organization for a particular purpose.
WorkStu
Work-Study- This is a federal program, associated with income requirement, that cannot be applied to tuition, but can provide a paycheck during studies.
